More than anything, Northwest Passage exists to be fun. The day this site stops being fun to maintain is the day this site should stop existing.
Northwest Passage is a fan-run website that explores the northwest music scene that centered around Seattle in the ‘80s and ‘90s (otherwise known as “grunge”).
The purpose of Northwest Passage is to document (and celebrate) this music scene, provide a historical record to accompany various books and films on the subject, and aims to be the top resource of this pivotal and influential music movement on the Internet.
Northwest Passage has been online since 2009. A previous iteration of the site, first called “Triple Cycle Theory” and then “Soundcheck” existed from 1998-2002.
Northwest Passage is built using the Zurb Foundation framework. More information regarding this system can be found at foundation.zurb.com.
This style guide aims to document the standards for the writing and design of the Northwest Passage website and social media channels. It aims to set standards and maintain consistency in both design and content and act as a reference guide for quicker content creation.
This guide is split into four main sections: content, branding and typography, social media and page templates. Use the menu to navigate through the various sections.
